Hello and welcome to Tuesday’s news.

mydeco’s pick of the top three stories:

1. dornob: Toilet seat design

Who would have thought that  toilet-seats could be fun? Well one company saw that there was a niche in the market and they’ve had a whole lot of fun spicing up our trips to the loo. These eye-popping designs by Pressalit range from gaudy and surreal to humorous and offbeat. You can choose from fake diamonds and wood stumps to soccer balls and flower bouquets. Are these toilet-seats naff or cool? You decide.

2. Crunch Gear: JThe Pentax K excels in robotic colours

If you see yourself as a bit of a photographer you can now impress all your amateur friends with this fantastically colourful Pentax camera. The eye-catching design is inspired by the famous Japanese Kore Ja Nai robo toy. It’s cute, it’s kitsch and oh so covetable. I think it’s about time to get snapping!

3. Cool Hunting: Shwood sunglasses

Oversized, retro shades are iconic. They have adorned the faces of Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Jackie Kennedy and continue to be popular amongst today’s A-list celebs. But how can you reinvent a design classic in the 21st century? Well Schwood sunglasses, a Portland based company has decided to make classic frames out of wood. Sustainable yet fashionable, retro yet modern; these shades just tick all the boxes.
