Some mornings just run like clockwork, others don’t run quite so smoothly – sadly my morning fell into the latter category! As I was sprinting to the tube, a little en-retard, a slippery leaf got the better of me and I fell spectacularly onto the floor. This wasn’t a little stumble that you can casually brush off; this was an almighty collision with my knees and the concrete pavement. So I may have a pair of laddered tights and some very grazed knees – but nothing can stop me from sourcing the best design stories for you! Sit back, grab yourselves a cuppa and enjoy the mydeco design feast that awaits…

mydeco’s pick of the top three stories:

1. dornob: 1 Man, 10 Stories, 100 Feet = Tallest Treehouse in the World

Who says that you have to be a kid to play in treehouses? Horace Burgess has dedicated his career to breaking this stereotype, and the result is the almighty ‘Minister’s Treehouse.’ It took 15 years, 250,000 nails and a lot of scrap wood to create this amazing structure that towers up over the very trees that support it. Mad or inspired? You decide.

2. MoCo Loco: China Collection by Ena Macana

China and its many meanings are explored in Ena Macana’s new China Collection. A selection of toys made in China are re-made in Barcelona in a provocative way that inverts the counterfeit process often seen in China – transforming the toys into fashion accessories. Thought provoking stuff.

3. The Telegraph: Bruce Forsyth views £9m house

Do you like the look of this sizeable property? Well you’d have to cope with its sizeable price tag. This country mansion is on the market for a whopping £9million and Strictly Come Dancing’s Bruce Forsyth has got his eyes on it. If you’re interested you better hurry, otherwise the veteran presenter will be waltzing up those steps!

The best of the rest:

The Times: Get fruity with this season’s hottest hue

The Telegraph: Buy an X factor judge’s home

The Daily Mail: Sell this or you’re fired: The £11m townhouse that next year’s Apprentice hopefuls will call home

dornob: See-Through Bathtub: Sexy Spa or Privacy Down the Drain?

Cool Hunting: Fabulous pictures by Kenji Hirata

That’s all we have time for today, but I hope we have provided you with your daily design fix. And guess what – I’ve purchased a snazzy new pair of tights, my knees are healing up a treat, so maybe the day won’t be so bad after all!
