Join Team Green Britain on 10th July 2009 to celebrate Green Britain Day. Show your support and join thousands of people take action towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton launched the campaign this week wearing this fabulous Union Jack dress especially designed for her by established British designer Wayne Hemingway using 100% recycled fabrics. Joined by her fellow Olympians on June 10th she will be calling for everyone to help work towards lowering Great Britain’s carbon footprint by the time that the 2012 Olympics arrive in the capital.

Developed in association with The Eden project the Team Green Britain website is packed with help and advice on how to get involved. We love the idea of throwing a bring and swap party. Check out the homes and garden section for more info and ideas.

1. Bremley Lyngdoh - 11 July, 2009

On 10th July 2009 while I was on the way to my office I picked up a copy of the Metro an realised thats the paper had gone green. Later I found out that it was the first Green Britain Day. So as the Founder and CEO of Worldview Impact, I have joined Team Green Britain yesterday and also launched a new project called the Carbon Neutral Athlete (CNA).

The CNA will create the space for other Olympic Games athletes just like Victoria from around the world who want to fight climate change by becoming carbon neutral. These CNAs can join Worldview Impact in saving the planet by planting rubber trees in the developing countries that we work in which will mitigate climate change by absorbing carbon from the atmosphere, create sustainable livelihoods for the poor from organic rubber production and reduce poverty at the community level in the long run.
